Mumbai: Sonakshi Sinha, who has received a lot of positive responses for her work in the streaming series ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’, is celebrating her birthday on Sunday. However, the actress has prioritised her work commitments and will spend her special day on the sets of a film.
It is after a long time that Sonakshi is celebrating her birthday on the sets. Usually she takes time out to travel on her birthday, but this year work has come first.
She is working on a romantic thriller film directed by debutant Karan Rawal and financed by Echelon Productions.
A source close to the production said that Sonakshi was shooting for the film in Naigaon in north Mumbai on Sunday. Meanwhile, Sonakshi was seen in a double role of Rehana, the former chief courtesan of the royal palace, and her daughter Faridan in ‘Hiramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’.
The series marks Indian auteur Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s OTT debut. The Netflix series also stars Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Sehgal and Sanjeeda Sheikh. It tells the story of prostitutes in Lahore’s Hiramandi district and connects it with India’s freedom struggle.
