Mumbai: Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre revealed that she did not know that she was pregnant during the shooting of the Marathi dance number “Cham Cham Karta” from the 2004 film “Agga Bai Arere”.
Sonali was interacting with Farah Khan, who came to her house to cook a meal consisting of a delicious Kashmiri Gujchi Pulao.
Farah said: “Actually Sonali, we have shot a lot of songs together. We have shot ankon mein base hai tum. Then we shot Duplicate, a Marathi famous song ‘Cham Cham Karta Hai’.”
Sonali said: “I did not know that I was pregnant.”
Farah revealed that Sonali looked full at that time and looked like a “film heroine”.
To which, Sonali said: “She (Farah) is telling me that you are married to a Punjabi … You are having dinner from Goldie’s house … and then I came to know that I was pregnant. I didn’t know yet.”
Farah said, “When she was pregnant, she danced the whole.”
The actress married filmmaker Goldie Behal in Mumbai in November 2002. They have a child, a son born in 2005.
Sonali said that it was always easy to work with Farah.
“There was no tension with Saroji. I knew he would scold me. Farah feels that he will scold but in 2 minutes you understand that all this is a show … all this love from inside and he and we enjoyed it very much,” Sonali said.
“Aga Bai Hekha!” There was a Marathi comedy drama by director Kedar Shinde, based on the Hollywood film What Wons Want. The film throws light on the life and problems of a common man living in a metropolitan city like Mumbai. The film also had a sequel called Agha Bai Arechya 2, which was not a commercial success.
Sonali started her career as a model and marked the beginning of her acting with AAG in 1994. After several box office failures, his career was successful in 1996 with romantic action film Diljel.
He achieved more success as a female lead in Duplicate, Major Saab, Natak Khaham, Sarfarosh, Kadhaler Dhinam and Hum Mana Sati Win Hans.
In the next decade, his performance in the romantic drama Hamara Dil Aapke Hai was his widespread praise. She further expanded to Telugu films with romantic drama Murari, Indra, Manmudu and Shankar Dada MBBS
