Playback singer Sonu Nigam has responded to a controversy related to his recent concert in Bangalore. During his performance at the East Point College in Virgonagar, Sonu Nigam lost his cool in a fan, seeking him to sing Kannada songs.
The singer instigated a line when he recently compared the incident with the initiative terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir. On stage, during his concert, Sonu Nigam said, “That’s why Pahalgam was attacked. For such an attitude. At least see who is in front of you before making such a demand. I didn’t like it (the way he asked),” Sonu Nigam said that he had great respect and love for Kannadigas.
The fans felt that the singer of the incident with the Pahgam attack was “bizarre” and slammed him to his comment. A supporter-Canada organization also filed a case against the singer for “provoking linguistic hatred”.
On 03 May, 2025 (Saturday), Sonu Nigam responded to the controversy, saying “he was threatened by 4-5 thugs” in a concert. He said, “People in the crowd also asked him not to disturb the concert. Others asked me politely,” they shared in a video. Instagram Account.
The singer said that some people started demanding Kannada songs from the beginning. He said, “My show had not even started and these people saw me in a rude manner and demanded me to sing Kannada. No artist should allow his audience to threaten him or him,” he said.
Sonu Nigam also talked about the comments of his Pahalgam terror attack, making the fans furious. “We need to remind such people that in Pahgam, people were not asked about their language before being killed.”
He said that he has no hatred towards Kannadigas. “They are very cute people. In every concert, I bring an hour set of Kannada songs.”
