Amritsar: Actor Sonu Sood has moved forward to support relief efforts for flood affected communities in Punjab.
On Saturday, Punjab Rural Development Minister Tarunpreet Singh Saund said that about 24,930 people have been affected by the floods in the state, which has flooded 40 villages.
Fazilka district is one of the worst hits, with 22,652 people affected, especially in Jalalabad and Fazilka constituencies.

Speaking to ANI, Sonu Sood said that he will participate in relief efforts including Bagpur, Sultanpur Lodhi, Ferozepur, Fazilka and Ajnala in various flood -affected cities in Punjab.

The ‘Fateh’ actor said that his relief efforts would be focused around reviving the livelihood of flood affected communities in Punjab.
While talking to Annie, Sonu Sood said, “I am going to Bagpur, Sultanpur Lodhi, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Ajnala, and I will try to go around and find out the situation. I think in the coming time, many houses are raining, many houses have been destroyed.
According to the flood situation in the state, Sonu Sood predicted that it would take “a few months” to get Punjab back normally. He urged people to come together for relief efforts in Punjab.
“It’s not a week or ten -day job. It will take at least a few months to bring Punjab back to its feet. I think everyone is coming forward. But still, we need to join many hands so that Punjab can be revived as soon as possible. For those whose houses have been destroyed, we will try to build some houses.
Punjabi singer-actress Guru Randhawa has reached Zero to support the efforts of relief as Punjab fights a flood crisis.
He met with the victims and raised support. Randhawa has set up a help camp in Dera Baba Nanak and near his village, Dharavali.
A few days ago, he also set up a relief fund to help the flood victims.
Guru said in a social media post, “Prayers for Punjab and all other states. Let us help in whatever way we can help in my area.
Earlier, on Saturday, in flood -affected Punjab, the Indian Army also carried out a relief operation in Fazilica district.
As a part of the operation, the army continues to provide relief materials and protects people from affected areas.
In addition, the Indian Army has set up medical camps to treat flood affected patients.
The toll of death in Punjab has increased to 46 due to floods, informing the state’s information and public relations department.
