Joe Jonas filed for divorce from Sophie Turner in September 2023 after four years of marriage. The actress is now opening up about her life as a single mother.
In 2023, fans were shocked when actor-musician Joe Jonas filed for divorce from his wife, Game of Thrones actor Sophie Turner. The couple were married for four years before Joe filed the papers citing ‘irreconcilable differences’. Their battle over the custody of daughters Willa and Delphine was finally resolved earlier this month. In a new interview with sunday timesSophie has now revealed that being a single mother is a ‘struggle’, reports Page Six. What did Sophie say?
During the interview, Sophie talked about her new show Joan, where she plays real-life character Joan Hanington, and said, “If I wasn’t a mother, I don’t know if I could do it.” Bring the same energy that I brought to this. What a struggle it is to be a single mother. Joan doesn’t go about it in the nicest way… but it’s amazing to see her really fighting for her daughter.”
She added, “It’s also important for children to see how hard parents work for them. There’s a lot of shame that comes with motherhood. You go to work, you’re embarrassed. If you don’t go to work , you are embarrassed.”

Sophie and Joe started dating in 2016 and got engaged in 2017. They married in Las Vegas in 2019 and held a second ceremony in France the same year. Sophie moves from England to New York City to be with Joe. They have two daughters, born in 2020 and 2022.
The official statement on their split read, “Statement from both of us: After four wonderful years of marriage we have decided by mutual consent to amicably end our marriage. There has been much speculation as to why this is “But really this is a joint decision and I sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for our privacy and that of our children.”
