Playback singer Sonu Nigam on Monday released an apology after a dispute related to his recent concert in Bangalore late on Monday. Hours after justifying their comment through a post on social media, the playback singer posted another post to apologize to the people of Karnataka.

Sonu faced backlash when he lost his cool in a fan, which recently sought to sing Kannada songs during his concert in Bengaluru, and said, “That is why incidents like Pahgam are for such attitude.” There was resentment compared to the fan seeking the Kannada song for the terrorist attack.

On Monday night, he said on his social media handle, “Sorry Karnataka. My love for you is greater than my ego. Love you allways.”

However, in his first post on Monday, Sonu said that he was “entitled to commit crime” from the incident. “I am not a young child to insult anyone,” he wrote. During the controversy, Sonu has said that he was threatened by “4-5 thugs”, who sought to sing Kannada during his concert.

Narasimalu said that no step has been taken so far to ban the singer from the Kannada film industry. “There will be a meeting with audio labels, manufacturer, music directors, singers and directors to discuss this issue in the chamber.”
