On the other hand, advance bookings for the other two films releasing on Independence Day – KhelKhel Mein and Veda – are sluggish at the moment… however, ticket sales are expected to pick up before they hit the theatres.
according to sacinlk.com, ‘Stree 2’ has sold over 1 lakh tickets across the top 3 national chains – PVRINOX and Cinepolis, with a remarkable tally of around 1.03 lakh tickets. This takes ‘Stree 2’ ahead of Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 and Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra in terms of advance bookings.
Reportedly, ‘Tiger 3’ and ‘Brahmastra’ sold 72,000 and 65,000 tickets respectively in the first 38 hours.
‘Stree 2’ is on par with blockbuster ‘Animal’ in terms of ticket sales, which set a new record by selling around 90,000 tickets in the top three national chains during the same period. ‘Animal’ ultimately sold around 4.56 lakh tickets on the first night of its release. ‘Stree 2’ is currently on its way to surpass ‘Animal’ as well.
