Stree 2 Exclusive: Abhishek Banerjee said- I never imagined being in the league of Jawaan and Pathan, reveals when Stree 3 will release

Mumbai: Stree 2 is receiving a great response at the box office and every actor is winning accolades for their stellar performances, including our very own Jana, who plays the character of Abhishek Banerjee. Abhishek exclusively opens up about his performance Zee News She talks about the success of Stree 2 and other topics.

When asked if he expected this phenomenal response at the box office, Abhishek confidently replied, “If you ask me personally, I knew this even in Stree 1, I had predicted 70 to 80 crores, and at that time Apar said I have gone crazy and he said I have no idea of reality, I was like I have no idea but I think this film will be loved by everyone from kids to adults. When I read Stree 2, I told Amar Kaushik, he is making a saga, he is making an adventure saga like comic books. So, when we saw it being made I was very sure that either it will be a blockbuster at the box office or a flop. But of course, no one would have expected that it will be 200 crores in 4 days, and be in the category of Jawaan and Pathan.”

We asked Abhishek what changed after the success of Stree 2, he answered very honestly, “The price has changed, I mean that is a very significant change, apart from that nothing else has changed, I am more confident, I am waiting for good scripts, I am just overwhelmed”.

Talking about playing Jana for the second time in Stree 2, Abhishek asserted, “Honestly, Jana is inside me, my childhood name is Gola, I have been Jana since childhood, I was a mama’s son. I am also a very good friend, my friends can vouch for me that I am there for them in good, bad and all the times. I just had to tap into that energy.”

Amar Kaushik gave life to every character and the success belongs to everyone, every character in the film has shone, and people have connected with the characters, we asked Abhishek for his reaction to which he said, “It is a very welcome change and thanks to the audience they are also maturing with us, we have Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil who are giving blockbusters and it is very important to get the love back and it is disappointing if we don’t do that.

I am thankful that the audience is getting attracted to good cinema, good acting and good direction. They understand the hard work and that is why they are giving something in return.”

Abhishek hasn’t had time to celebrate the success but he revealed how he plans to celebrate this win, “I will be shooting and working till the 27th but after that, I will take a nice long vacation and get away from the success and roam foreign streets, eat good food and meet someone who I can use for my next character”.

When we asked Abhishek if he will keep his fees high even after success, he told, “I worked for free in Stolen because it had no budget and I believed in the script, of course, I am a percentage partner when the film earns, but when I say price hike, it doesn’t mean I am putting a price tag on myself, it depends on the budget and only then we will rotate the fees and every actor should do the same.”

Lastly, we asked him for an update on Stree 3, he said, “We have just started writing it, I don’t think it will start in the next 1 or 2 years, Amar Kaushik is a talented guy, unless he has a great script, he won’t start”.

Stree 2 has earned Rs 300 crore at the box office and has become the biggest blockbuster of this year.
