Highlights from the trailer of ‘Stree 2’
About six years later WomanThe trailer of the sequel to Amar Kaushik’s hit horror comedy is here. Woman 2 Shraddha Kapoor returns along with Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana. Tamannaah Bhatia joins in the madness with a song performance.
The first film, written by Raj and DK, was set in Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh, whose male residents are stalked and terrorised by an evil female spirit, according to a supernatural premise. Rajkummar Rao played a timid tailor named Vicky, who falls in love with a mysterious customer, played by Shraddha. Khurana and Banerjee played Vicky’s best friends, Bittu and Jan. The film ended with a cliffhanger as Shraddha’s character, who was not named, appeared with a ponytail associated with the evil spirit.
In Woman 2The people of Chanderi face a new enemy: a headless male demon named Sarkata. As explained by Pankaj Tripathi’s worldly-wise paranologist Rudra Bhaiya, Sarkata is the archenemy of women who has now re-emerged to change the minds of the men of Chanderi, much like a modern-day ‘influencer’. So it’s up to Vicky – who has been reunited with his ponytail-wearing lost girlfriend – and the gang to rise to the occasion and save their town from the threat of Sarkata.
Woman The films are part of the horror-comedy universe of Maddock Films. Other films in this universe include Ruhi, wolf And the recent blockbuster, Munjya,
Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films said in a statement, “The first Woman While this was a defining film in Maddox’s filmography, Stree 2 will tie the entire universe together. It answers all the questions raised by Stree 1 and also shows the connections. This is a landmark film for us, especially in terms of VFX and world building. It is unique and a different kind of upgrade. It is fun, big, a visual spectacle and has all our characters and some new special angles. This is the most important film we are putting out there and our biggest film.”
Woman 2 Produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios, the film will release in theatres on August 15, 2024.
