A day after winning the Best Actor honor at the Kannada State Film Awards for the year 2019, Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep has refused to accept the award. Sudeep was named Best Actor for his performance in the sports drama pelwaan,
Sudeep took it x To inform your decision. The veteran actor said he has stopped accepting awards due to “various personal reasons”. “Respected Government of Karnataka and members of the jury. It is indeed a privilege to receive the State Award under the Best Actor category and I heartily thank the respected jury for this honour.
“However, I must say that I have decided to stop receiving awards for a number of years now, this decision has been taken for various personal reasons which I wish to maintain. There are many deserving actors who have poured their hearts into their craft and they will appreciate this prestigious recognition even more than I do. I would be just happy to see one of them achieve it,” he said.
The actor apologized to the state government for his decision. “I am grateful to each jury member for choosing me, because this recognition, in itself, is my reward. “I sincerely apologize to the jurors and the state government for any disappointment my decision may have caused and I am confident that you will respect my choice and support me on the path I have chosen,” he wrote.
