Sunny Deol recalls how Dharmendra’s ‘Haqiqat’ inspired him to make ‘Border 2’

Jaisalmer: At the launch event of the song ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ from the film ‘Border 2’ in the frontier Tanot area of ​​Jaisalmer, actor Sunny Deol got emotional as he recalled his deep emotional connect with the film and shared how it was inspired by his father Dharmendra’s iconic war film ‘Haqeeqat’.

Addressing BSF jawans and media at the song launch event, Sunny Deol recalled his father Dharmendra’s war film ‘Haqeeqat’, saying it had a “strong impact” on him in his childhood, which inspired him to make ‘Border’.

“I did ‘Border’ because when I saw my father’s (Dharmendra) film ‘Haqiqat’, I loved it. I was a child then. So, when I became an actor, I decided to make a film similar to my father’s film. I spoke to JP Dutta, and we decided to make a film on the Longewala theme, which is very close to our hearts and lives in all of your hearts,” said Sunny Deol.

Sunny Deol reflected on the impact of the film Border on the youth, saying that he never thought that it would inspire the youth to join the armed forces.

Sunny Deol said, “Wherever I go, I never knew that we would give so much confidence to so many youngsters that they would choose to join the armed forces. Whenever I meet them, they tell me that after watching my film they decided to join the forces.”

The makers of Border 2 released the much-awaited track ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ at a song launch event held at Longewala-Tanot, Jaisalmer on Friday.

The song launch event, which featured lead actors Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, Sonu Nigam, Bhushan Kumar and others, took place in the presence of BSF jawans and the Army, making it a moment of national pride and collective spirit.

The reimagined version of the song ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ was composed by Mithun with the original music composed by Anu Malik. Manoj Muntashir Shukla added fresh lyrics to the song, which was originally written by Javed Akhtar.

The song has been sung by Roopkumar Rathod, Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh, Vishal Mishra and Diljit Dosanjh.

Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 brings together a powerful ensemble cast led by Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Mona Singh, Medha Rana, Sonam Bajwa and Anya Singh.

Border 2 is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with JP Dutta’s JP Films. Backed by a powerful production team including Bhushan Kumar, Krishna Kumar, JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta and directed by Anurag Singh.

This film is going to be released in theaters on 23 January.
