The 2 minutes 19 seconds long teaser trailer for Superman has left a lot to be desired for fans. It doesn’t just feature David as Clark Kent aka Superman, but also includes characters like Lex Luthor, Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl, Metamorpho, the Engineer, and Mister Terrific. But one lovable character has captured everyone’s hearts – Krypto.
One minute into the teaser trailer, there’s an emotional moment as Superman is lying on the snow, covered in blood and seemingly exhausted from the long battle. He whistles and a storm comes from a distance. Next thing you know, Krypto is there to the rescue, complete with a cape of his own. It looks like the cute pup is ready to save the day and fans are proving hard to keep calm.

X (formerly Twitter) is filled with photos and videos of crypto and people are swooning over its beauty. “Crypto is a very nice boy!!! #SupermanMovie,” one fan commented while sharing a screengrab of the teaser trailer. Another wrote, “Look at my boy Kiptyo! I was talking dirty because I don’t fuck like Superman but this looks fun as fuck! #SupermanMovie,” another wrote while sharing a clip.

For those unaware, Krypto aka Krypto the Superdog is a superhero from the DC universe. While previously voiced by Dwayne Johnson for DC League of Super-Pets in 2022, Superman will mark Krypto’s debut in live-action format.
James wrote on Instagram in October that Crypto was inspired by his dog Ozu, who he adopted shortly after he began writing Superman. They wrote, “Ozu, who came from a backyard hoarding situation with 60 other dogs and had never known humans, was problematic to say the least. He immediately came in and destroyed our house, our shoes, our furniture – he even ate my laptop. It took a long time before she even let us touch her. I remember thinking, “Oh my God, how much harder would life be if Ozu had superpowers?” – And so crypto came into the script and changed the shape of the story just as Ozu was changing my life.
