Mumbai: The makers of Kajol, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Ibrahim Ali Khan’s much awaited drama “Sarzmin” have dropped the gripping trailer from the film. Based on preview, Prithviraj Sukumaran will be included as Vijay Menon in this project – a person torn amid a father as a father and his duty as a soldier. On the other hand, we see Kajol as Meher – a mother who is ready to go to any length to keep her family together.

Ibrahim Ali Khan will essay the role of Harman – a weak youth was caught at the intersection. Talking about the film, Kajol said, “Sarzemin called for an emotional depth, which really intrigues me as an actor. The role resonated with me on a very personal level. I was happy to bring Ibrahim to life and I am very excited to bring Ibrahim into life and I am very excited to him.
I am keen on the release of the film. “Prithviraj Sukumaran revealed,” The moment I read the script of Sarzmin, I knew that it was a character I needed to play. It is layered, intense, and we speak for the emotional cost of the options we made in the name of duty and love. Playing this character was pushed to me in the ways that I did not expect – it challenged my beliefs and reflected me on the weight of silence, loyalty and truth.
I am proud to be some raw, real and part of resonance. I also had an incredible opportunity to work with Kajol, which is such a powerful actor, and a gem in making Ibrahim. I really hope that Sergamine will withstand a raga with the hearts of the audience. “Kayoz Irani, who will begin his direction with the play,” Sarzmen is my first feature film as a director and I am proud of it.
This story came to me like a whisper and quickly became a roar which I could not ignore. It is emotional, it is intense, and it asks with big questions but in its heart, it is about finding its place in love, identity and dirty world.
It is the resonance of the world today and it catches its complexity. Kajol Mam, directed by Prithviraj sir and Ibrahim, was a real experience, they brought great vulnerability to their characters and made all the differences. “Surizhemin” is going to premiere on jiohotstar on July 25.
