Sushant Singh Rajput’s 39th birth anniversary: ​​Ekta Kapoor paid an emotional tribute, said- Happy birthday, wherever you are…

Mumbai: On his 39th birth anniversary on Tuesday, the TV queen remembered late star Sushant Singh Rajput and paid tribute to him by sharing moments from his popular show “Pavitra Rishta”.

Ekta shared a video of Sushant and actress Ankita Lokhande on Instagram. It featured several moments from his show, which aired from 2009 to October 2014. It was an adaptation of the Tamil television series Thirumathi Selvam.

“Old memories and emotions come in waves and perhaps today is one such day… Happy Birthday, shine wherever you are, smile, remember that you were loved!” Ekta wrote in the caption.

The show revolved around Sushant’s character Manav, a garage owner. He is fascinated by Archana, a homely and hard-working girl from a middle-class family. After Archana gets married to Manav, their happiness is cut short due to a crisis in their family.

Sushant entered the world of acting with the show ‘Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil’. He shouted “Kai po che!” Made his big screen debut with. After this he was seen in many commercial films like Shuddh Desi Romance, ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’, ‘Kedarnath’ and ‘Chhichhore’.

Rajput started his acting career after leaving his engineering course at Delhi College of Engineering and entering the theater industry in Mumbai. After Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil, Sushant acted in Pavitra Rishta.

In June 2020, at the age of 34, he died by suicide at his home in Bandra, Mumbai. His death was surrounded by many controversies. The Narcotics Control Bureau claimed that Rajput was using various people to obtain drugs since 2018 and filed charges of abetment against him.

His last film Dil Bechara was released posthumously on the streaming platform Hotstar in 2020. It was a coming-of-age tragic romance film directed by Mukesh Chhabra. The film was based on the 2012 novel The Fault in Our Stars by John Green.
