Sushmita Sen loves her daughters very much. The actress, who is a single mother to Renee and Alisah, recently spoke about how “it is very important to talk to your children – boys and girls – about sex.” In a conversation with the actress rhea chakrabortySushmita shared her perspective on “the conversation” with her daughters. She said, “I didn’t have to explain anything (to my daughters) about sex. They are already PhDs, all of them. My younger daughter is in biology. So, she will talk in terms, and I say, ‘Okay, can we keep it very simple? We don’t need to discuss the technicalities of it.'”
Sushmita Sen also mentioned something that she has “talked about” to her daughters “again and again.” The actress said that she doesn’t want to interfere between her daughters and their friends.
Sushmita Sen further revealed that she has advised her daughters not to get into any kind of relationship under peer pressure. She said, “You can explore yourself and your desires, there is no problem in that. But, at the end, it should not make you feel bad. That is very important. And, don’t do it because someone told you to, there was peer pressure, there was pressure from friends. Nothing, you have to do it because you want to. The day you do something that you don’t want to do, you are already on the wrong path. So whenever you are ready, you want to do something, do it. Don’t lie to me.”
Sushmita Sen never married. She adopted Renee in 2000. Alisha joined her family in 2010.
