Throughout her acting career, Sweeney has faced severe criticism about her body, with top Hollywood producer Carol Baum saying in April that she is “not beautiful”. In the wake of constant body shaming, the Madam Web star shared footage of herself working out hard in the gym for her role as Martin in the upcoming biopic. His intense workout routine included lifting heavy weights, abdominal hang-ups, cable pull-ups, cardio-boxing and tire flips.

In a video shared to her Instagram account on Friday, Sweeney shared screenshots of rude comments, like, “Painfully average. There are better looking girls on the beach in front of my house” and “She’s really not very attractive. Not sure why she’s so popular. My body was better than it was at 37 before I got pregnant with my youngest child.” ‘The body is not incredible at all. She’s definitely not attractive either. Maybe a 4 on a scale of one to ten,” read another hateful comment.
However, Sweeney’s fans immediately flocked to the comments section and shared words of encouragement. Bridgerton alum Phoebe Dynevor also showed support for him, leaving a heart and multiple fist emojis. Meanwhile, the Anybody But You star’s fans urged her to ignore her haters, with one writing, “They only hate you because you’re a better person than them. Stay amazing, we love your shit.”
