Fresh from her global success in ‘Dune: Prophecy’, the sci-fi prequel to Denis Villeneuve’s acclaimed franchise, Tabu has now announced her next project reuniting with Akshay Kumar.
Tabu will act in Akshay Kumar’s film Bhoot Bangla
On Saturday night, Tabu shared a picture on her Instagram, which shows a clapboard made of soft glow of candles. The clapboard text read: “Balaji Telefilms Limited Presents Bhoot Bangla.”
Tabu captioned the post, “We are locked in here.”
Tabu also tagged the film’s director Priyadarshan, production house Balaji Motion Pictures and co-stars Akshay Kumar, Jisshu Sengupta, Vamika Gabbi as well as composer Pritam in her post.

Interestingly, director Priyadarshan and co-star Akshay Kumar had previously worked together in the initial installment of the ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ franchise in 2007.
With ‘Bhoot Bangla’, Tabu returned to the world of horror-comedy, a genre in which she had previously excelled. She enthralled audiences as twin witches Manjulika and Anjulika in Anees Bazmee’s 2022 blockbuster ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ and shone in Rohit Shetty’s 2017 hit. ‘Golmaal Again’.

Tabu and Priyadarshan have a long history of successful collaborations, including the 1997 Bollywood action-drama Virasat, the 2000 cult comedy ‘Hera Pheri’, the Tamil mystery-thriller ‘Snegithiye’ and the Malayalam crime-thriller ‘Rakilipattu’.
She also shares a strong on-screen connection with Akshay Kumar, having co-starred with him in ‘Hera Pheri’ and the action film ‘Tu Chor Main Sipahi’. Tabu and Vamika Gabbi previously worked together in Vishal Bhardwaj’s 2023 Netflix espionage thriller ‘Khufiya’. Meanwhile, after working together in hit films like ‘Hera Pheri’, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’, ‘Garam Masala’, ‘Bhagam Bhag’ and ‘De Dana Dan’, Akshay and Priyadarshan have come together again for ‘Bhoot Bangla’ .
