Hiramandi Actor Taha Shah Badusha made a grand debut at the Cannes Film Festival 2024. The actor, who attended the prestigious event last month, recently revealed that he skipped his meal there to approach the film commissioners. ZoomTaha revealed that he was actively “distributing (his) cards like a new person.” He described his approach saying, “‘Please call me, contact me’, I was visiting every stall, meeting every film commissioner. It’s not like they will help me get work tomorrow morning, but you never know. I don’t mind missing my sleep or meals when it comes to work. When I was in Cannes, I didn’t eat. If you have to go out to eat, you have to take out one and a half to two hours, go out, order food, finish eating and come back. I either eat or make contacts, I chose the latter option. I can eat later too.”
During the same discussion, Taha Shah Badusha also recalled his past struggles and recalled how he used to buy juice for the watchmen in exchange for informing him when someone was coming. He shared, “Earlier, when I used to meet people, they would say, ‘He is desperate, he doesn’t leave you, he is obsessive.’ But now, I will do it a thousand times, because I know what I am doing is right. When I did not have work, I would meet watchmen and say, ‘Whenever sahab comes, please call me’. I would buy juice, drinks or food for them, I would return the money to them in a certain way but would request them to please let me know so that I can meet people quickly. So why should I stop it? If I want to meet someone, I will try. Of course, it has become easier to meet now, but I have no ego.”
In Hiramandi: Diamond Market, Taha Shah Badusha plays the role of Nawab Tajdar. The Netflix series directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali also stars Manisha Koirala, Sharmin Segal, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari and Richa Chadha in important roles.
