The Tamil actor Krishna and his associate were arrested by the Nungambakamkam police of Greater Chennai Police (GCP) on Thursday (June 26, 2025), which after the seizure of narcotics from the Associate and after the discovery of WhatsApp chat between them and others, between them and others.
Krishna is the second actor to be arrested in the case, after actor Srikanth, alias Sridhar Krishnamkhari was arrested on Monday (June 23).
What is the matter?
Last month, even though the investigation of the case started in Nungambakkam at a time. Eight persons including Prasad (a former AIADMK worker) were arrested in connection with the incident. Investigation revealed that Prasad was involved in several crimes, including murder, job fraud and forced recovery. The police also highlighted the relationship between Prasad and a drug cartel, which included Prado alias Pradeep and his associates, including John, a national national operation of Ghana.
Police said Prasad had been receiving cocaine from the group for the last three years and was selling close circles of his friends including actor Srikanth. Details of financial transactions and electronic evidence were also collected. Srikanth was arrested by the Nungambakkam police on Monday.
Actor Krishna’s participation
On being called, actor Krishna appeared before the police at thousands of lights station on Wednesday (June 25). Till Thursday evening, he was medically examined and questioned.
In a statement, the GCP stated that, in pursuance of the investigation in the case of medicine, “Krishna was arrested for purchasing, using them and giving him to his friends, while his colleague Kevin was arrested for purchasing, using and selling drugs – based on clinicing evidence.”
Police said they were looking for Krishna, who were absconding, and conducting the investigation on the basis of scientific and technical evidence along with strong leads.
Jessvi alias Kevin was also arrested on Thursday. Police seized about 0.5 grams of cocaine, 10.30 grams of Menthafetamine, 2.75 grams MDMA, 2.40 grams of Og Ganja, 30 grams regular hemp, ziplock cover, weight machines, ₹ 45,200 cash, a laptop, and a mobile phone.
Police said that Krishna regularly received drugs from Kevin, consumed them, and shared them with his friends as well. He also joined the WhatsApp groups of drug users and discussed matters related to drugs. According to police, they shared details such as space and time for drug consumption in these groups. Both were arrested on the basis of their bank transactions, drugs seizing and supporting scientific evidence. Police said that further investigation is going on.

Smuggling, possession and sales of drugs are punishable offenses. Police said that it is also considered a crime that if a person has failed to inform the officers with drugs, the police said.
Police sources said that the investigation of the case is likely to be wide and more suspects can be arrested in relation to it. So far, 24 persons have been arrested by the Nungambakkam police.
