Taylor Swift threatens to sue student who tracked her private jet online, says she’s ‘in fear for her personal safety’

Taylor Swift has threatened legal action against an American college student who tracked her private jet’s movements online.

Taylor Swift’s legal notice

The cease-and-desist letter to Jack was sent in December 2023 by Taylor Swift’s attorney Katie Wright Morone. Taylor’s team also claimed that there was “no legitimate interest or public need for this information, other than to stalk, harass, and dominate and control”.

Jack Sweeney’s reaction

In response, Jack Sweeney released his letter through The Daily Mail. “I think it’s important to note that I have no intention of causing harm anywhere. I actually think Swift has some good songs. I believe in transparency and public information. It’s also important to note that That letter comes just days after it made headlines about his jet usage, which led to bad headlines. I think people are interested about carbon emissions. [Swift] “It should be a good expectation that your jet will be tracked whether I do it or not, because after all it is public information.”

This is not the first time a public figure has called out Jack for tracking his aircraft. In 2022, Tesla founder and world’s richest man Elon Musk accused Jack of sharing his “murder coordinates”, banning him from Twitter (now X).
