Taylor Swift’s jet gets stuck after environmental activists slam her paint job ahead of Wembley Eras tour

Taylor Swift’s Wembley Eras Tour is just around the corner, but a recent incident has filled the pre-show buzz with the colour orange. Swift’s private jet became the unwitting target of a protest at London airport. Environmental activists from the Just Stop Oil group spray-painted orange paint on several private jets, reportedly including Swift’s plane. The Cruel Summer singer’s jet is believed to have landed just hours before the start of “another anti-fossil fuel protest.”

Taylor Swift has joined a growing list of stars under scrutiny for their use of private jets. Her use of the Ares tour jet has reportedly angered climate activists as concerns over carbon emissions grow and there are widespread concerns about global warming.

Two eco-activists, Jennifer Kowalski and Cole MacDonald from Just Stop Oil, are believed to have targeted a number of private jets at London’s Stansted Airport, shortly after the pop star’s plane landed there ahead of her concert tour. The incident took place at around 5am and saw two activists enter the airfield by cutting through a fence and putting orange markings on the planes with fire extinguishers filled with orange paint.

A video shared by the activists shows them entering the airfield by cutting through the fence. The activists claim, “Two supporters of Just Stop Oil painted several private jets on the airfield where Taylor Swift’s jet landed just hours earlier.” While it is not clear if their plane was also painted orange, the protesters shared photos of the incident along with their statement.

This is not the first time high-profile celebrities have faced criticism for their regular use of private aircraft. Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Leonardo DiCaprio and many others have come under fire for their frequent private jet travel. However, in Swift’s case, her constant touring schedule from one place to another has made her a top target. The 14-time Grammy winner is set to play her next match at Wembley Stadium on Friday.

According to Macdonald, “We live in two worlds: one where billionaires live in luxury, able to fly in private jets, while another world where unlivable conditions are imposed on countless millions of people.” Along with Swift’s song, the protester said, “Meanwhile, the system that allows the accumulation of enormous wealth by a few is destroying the conditions necessary to support human life in an increasingly never-ending ‘Cruel Summer.’
