New Delhi: Veteran Telugu actor Mohan Babu has issued an apology for allegedly assaulting a journalist at his residence in Jalapalli in Rangareddy district on the evening of December 10, 2024.
The actor expressed his “deep regret” over the incident and described it as an impulsive act in the “heat of the moment”, when 30–50 persons allegedly forcibly entered his house with the intention of causing harm to those present.
Mohan Babu shared an apology letter on his ex handle, which read:
“In the heat of the moment, when my gate was broken and around 30-50 persons, including anti-social elements, forcibly entered my house with the intention of causing harm to the people present, I lost my temper.”
The Pedha Rayudu actor apologized to the journalist for getting injured during the brawl.
He wrote: “Amidst this chaos, the media unknowingly became complicit in the situation. As I tried to handle the circumstances, unfortunately one of your journalists, Mr. Ranjit, was injured. This was an extremely regrettable outcome, and I am “Deeply regrets the pain and inconvenience caused to him, his family and the TV9 community.”

Mohan Babu also wished for the speedy recovery of the journalist and reiterated his apology.

The journalists had reportedly arrived at Mohan Babu’s residence that evening to cover a family dispute, which had attracted considerable media attention.

The complainant said that he and other journalists were invited inside the house by Manchu Manoj at 8:05 pm to report on the ongoing tension between the father and son. However, during his coverage, Mohan Babu allegedly confronted the journalist in an aggressive manner.
The actor is accused of forcibly snatching the reporter’s microphone and phone, using abusive language and physically assaulting her with the microphone, which reportedly had a steel pipe and a metal logo. It is said that the journalist suffered a serious head injury in the attack and lost a lot of blood.
