New Delhi: 19 -year -old singer and popular Telugu music reality show ‘Paduta Teyga’, Pravesthi Aradhya, has created controversy after being taken on social media with a series of serious allegations against the show’s judges and production team. In a video titled “Goodbye to My Dreams”, Pravashi accused several prominent personalities, which included Oscar-winning composer MM Kerwani and Playback singer SP Charan, body-shaming, humiliation and professional prejudice after recent abolition.
Pravashi, a familiar face in the regional music circuit and a reality TV regularly from childhood alleged that the treatment he received in the show was “useless”. She specifically pointed out the fingers on the judge and playback singer Sunith, claiming that during the performance that he was “given a hateful form” and negatively talked about his talent, unaware that the provided could hear through his earpieces.
“He was very biased to the tune and his compositions,” he said about Kerwani. “After my abolition, he looked at me and commented on how he dislikes singers who perform at weddings.” Pravesthi, who performed in private programs due to financial obstacles at home, said that comment killed an individual nerve. He also criticized the use of Kirwani’s colloquial word “Chakiri” (Earth Job), when referring to the singers working under him, called it “condemnation”.
In addition, he alleged that the production team repeatedly embarrassed the body and forced it to uncomfortable wardrobe options. He claimed, “He made jokes about my body and stressed that I wear less-related sarees to highlight my navel,” she claimed that the costume designer directly stated that she could not “style her better”.
In response to the viral video, singer Sunita addressed the allegations in her own Instagram video on 22 April. Speaking in Telugu, he expressed shock and disappointment over claims. He said, “When you were a little girl, you have been with us. We used to appreciate your singing,” he said, emphasizing the importance of emotional power in the entertainment industry.
Sunita urged the young singer to share the “whole truth” instead of described as a “partial story”. He addressed the specific claims made by Prashastha, including the allegations that Sunita eradicated her. “It is really hurt. I can’t understand why you would say something like this,” Sunita said.
Following Sunita’s response, Pravesthi released a second video, reiterating her stance. “I never said to love – I only asked for basic respect,” he said. Pravashi also fought some of Sunita’s statements, given that it was his patron Nihal Konduri, not Sunita, who gave her backup singing opportunities. He disputed about who was with his house, saying that a assistant organized by his mother had taken him and not Sunita.
He also said what he saw as an inappropriate language used by the playback singer. “You said that I came on the road -”
Prashasthi concluded Sunita’s legacy in the industry while standing from his account. “You are a legend, but I have the right to speak about how I was treated,” he said.
