New Delhi: The much -awaited Tamil romantic drama Thalaivan Thalaivi, starring by Vijay Sethupati and Nithya Menon, made his dramatic debut on 25 July 2025, and met both critics and audiences with widespread praise.
Civilized inauguration at the box office
Directed by Pandiraj, the film was opened in 1 day with a respectable box office collection of Rs 5.2 crore, setting the platform for a successful dramatic run.

A story of passion, struggle and emotional depth
Thalaivan Thalaivi is the centers around the complex relations between two lovers, Azeveran (starred by Vijay Sethupathi) and Pararasi (starred by Nithya Menon), whose bond is marked by acute emotional high and climbing. The story delays the themes of love, marriage and a common life and struggles coming with business.
The trailer, which runs for 2 minutes and 46 seconds, begins with romantic moments and ends in emotional stress because Sethupathi’s character expresses how marriage he feels like “death”. Their stressful relationship also affects their joint restaurant business, which adds layers to the film’s emotional arc.
The film claims an influential crew, in which Santosh Narayanan composed music, M. Cinematography to handle Sukumar, and Pradeep E. Ragav is in charge of editing.
Second on-screen cooperation
Thalaivan Thalaivi made another cooperation between Vijay Sethupati and Nithya Menon. His first film was simultaneously 2022 Malayalam Social Drama 19 (1) (A), which is currently available for streaming on Jiocinema and Hotstar via Ottplay Premium. The film revolved around a revolutionary writer and owner of a photocopy shop.
