Natayarangam, the dance wing of Narada Gan Sabha, conducted the 27th annual Bharatanatyam Festival from August 14 to 18, which was in the Narada Gan Sabha. The subject chosen for this year was ‘Acharya Bharatam’ (Guru Divya), who reiterated the fact that spirituality is the basis of Indian culture.

The five -day festival highlighted the life and teachings of the five Acharyas. Day One included actors Vidhun Kumar, Uma Govind and Sibi Sudarshan. His performance was based on the theme on Adi Shankaracharya. Tone was set for the presentation by Sudha Sashayayan about the Advaita Darshan of Acharya and Sri Adi Shankara.

The performance began with Pranav Mantra ‘Om’, followed by Gayatri Mantra and a Ganesh Vandanam, a piece of invocant Nrita, marked by the clarity of Adavas and Hand Mudars.

Through re -creating the disciplined life of the Vedic era, the dancers painted and performed rituals to the people living in solidarity. Soon is inequality and people take DuriousWhich leads to a lot of chaos.

This occurs when Dakshinamurthy takes the form of Shankar and is born to restore religion. Through Kanakadhara Stotrum, the dancers depicted the phenomenon where the crocodile catches Shankar’s feet and only releases it when his mother allows him to become a sannyasi. Wadhun was influential as Shankara.

Shankar now goes in search of a guru and contacts Govinda Bhagwathpada, who asks who he was. Shankar immediately tells Nirvana enemy that it is a pure consciousness. The Guru understands that he was Shankara and takes him as a mastery of his Guru in Advaita philosophy, Shankar writes Brahma Sutra and other religious texts and spreads messages to the world. Shankar’s intellectual development is seen when he asks a chandala, who crosses his path, to go to one side. He in turn asks him if he should transfer his body or his consciousness. This causes Shankara fall on his feet.

The interesting debate between Shankar and Mandana Mishra reflected the spirit of the Vedic era. Sibi played her role as Madana Mishra. Mandan Mishra’s wife Ujya Bharati is asked to judge the debate as he was an expert in both Mimamsa and Advaita. Uma Govind, as Ubaya Bharati, took a quiet confidence of the character, although Shankar conquered the debate, Bajaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Shankar then performs Parkayaprash, who enters the body of King Amaru. Tilana performed by Tarihun and Uma choreographed with great care, expressing the erotic happiness experienced by the king and the queen.

Shankar returns to his original body and clearly suggests that he had experienced and sacrificed the sensual pleasures of a grace. Now, both Madan Mishra and his wife became his Shishya.

After this, after the depiction of Shanmat and Shankar, he was united as manifestations of the formless Brahmin (relationship with Divya). Shankar performs four Mata Stopans and attains the status of Sarvasya Pitam.

Production concluded with Sankar’s popular composition “Bhaja Govindam”, where he emphasizes the need to prevent worldly activities and understand the need to understand the need to connect with Brahmins, which makes it relevant to the current generation.

The music performed by Rajkumar Bharati cleverly exposed the mood of each scene. Nattuvangam led by Jayasri Ramanathan, Orchestra, Venkateswaran Kuppuswamy (vocal support), Venkatsan Vedakrishnaram (Mridajam), Soundarajan (Veena) and Hariprasad (flute) helped to increase divine experience.

Guru Priyadarsini Govind and V. of choreography dancers. Was done under the guidance of Mithili.
