Eddie Redmayne will play a very smart assassin in the upcoming series Day of the Jackal. The teaser of the Peacock and Sky series was released on 26 July 2024 during the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics.
The official description of the series reads, “The Jackal (Redmayne) is a contract killer who makes his living by committing murders for the highest fees. But after his latest killing, he meets a determined British intelligence officer (Lashana Lynch) who begins tracking down the Jackal in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe that leads to mayhem.”
Ronan Bennett is the writer while Brian Kirk is the director of the series. The duo will executive produce the project along with Redmayne. Other executive producers are Gareth Neame, Knight Merchant, Sam Hoyle and Sue Naegle.
