The fan dies after falling from the upper tier during the Oasis concert at the Vambali Stadium: Report

New Delhi: One person has died in the 40s after falling from a height during an Oasis concert held at the Wambali Stadium in London on Saturday night, the Metropolitan Police has confirmed the BBC. A few minutes after the closing of his performance by the band, an alleged tragic incident occurred.

Emergency services responded within minutes

The authorities were alerted on BST at 10:19 pm, after those reports that a person had fallen inside the stadium. The Metropolitan Police and Medix officials reached the spot, where they discovered the person with injuries described as “as per the fall”. Despite immediate intervention, the man was declared dead on the spot.

The identity of the victim has not yet been disclosed, and the police only confirmed that he was in the 40s.

Oasis: “Surprised and sad”

In a statement issued to the BBC, Oasis stated that he was “shocked and unhappy” from tragic news.

The band said, “Would like to expand our honesty towards the family and friends of the person involved in Oasis.”

The performance of Oasis began at 8:15 pm and ended at 10:15 pm, as listed on the official website of the Wambali Stadium. It was reportedly fallen from an upper level of the site, packed with fans participating in a long -awaited performance.

Call for witnesses and video footage

Given the huge crowd, the police believe that many people may have seen the fall or possibly caught it on their mobile phone, either intentionally or unknowingly. He called 101 and appealed to come forward with information or footage.

A police spokesman said, “It is believed that many people have seen the incident, or intentionally or unknowingly, may have been caught on mobile phone video footage.”

Health and Safety Executive to Handle Investigation

The Metropolitan Police also confirmed that the ongoing investigation into the deadly incident would be handed over to the UK’s Health and Safety Executive (HSE) in the coming days. The HSE workplace is a national regulator for health and safety, and is responsible for investigating major events in public places such as stadiums.
