ABC 5.0 features a diverse range of art, including traditional and abstract paintings, charcoal and pen-and-ink artworks, photographic works, and graphic cartoons. Visitors will find themselves enthralled by the range of art that includes landscapes, realism, minimalism, portraits, and sketches.
One of the most notable and regular features of this collective is its inclusion of debutants as well as professional artists, giving everyone a platform for creativity.

While Satya Krishna Prakash, a freelance animator and artist, has been involved with art for over a decade, this is his first exhibition with ABC. “I create a lot of artworks related to natural history, animals and birds. For this show, I am exhibiting a pen sketch and a charcoal sketch,” says Satya, adding that he also paints with oil and watercolours.
For former photojournalist Ratheesh Sundaram, this exhibition is his first as a photo artist. Ratheesh, who has been involved with film photography since childhood, says his themes are open to interpretation. “I think the three photographs that I will be exhibiting have a similar theme, but I have deliberately left them untitled so that the audience can interpret them as they wish. The photographs on display are taken from my travels,” says Ratheesh.
“I love working with black and white photographs because there are no distractions like there are with colour photographs,” he says.
Artist and playwright, Selmin Sherif has been a part of the painting world for the past 10 years. The artist’s favourite medium is oil on canvas, and he says socio-political and humanitarian issues recur in his work.

For her fifth show with ABC, Celmins says, “One of my new paintings is about gender and patriarchy. I travel and come back to my work, constantly making changes, so it evolves in an organic way. My paintings tell stories that allow me to have conversations with my audience about those topics.”
Watercolour artist Sudeshna Ukil says, “This exhibition is all about the sky and greenery. As a child, I started drawing on the floor with a chalk in my hand.” Coming from a family of artists, Sudeshna grew up with the idea of art and creativity and began her journey with exhibitions in 2014. Inspired by the beauty of life, Sudeshna says, “Every day is magical.”
The Art Bengaluru Collective is being organised at the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath till June 16.
