The General Secretary of FWICE demanded a total ban on Pakistani artists.

Mumbai: The General Secretary of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), Ashok Dubey has called for a complete ban on Pakistani artists from working in India.

It comes after a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April, where 26 civilians were killed. The tension between India and Pakistan has increased rapidly since the attack.

Talking to ANI, Dubey said, “Since it is a matter of national interest, the nation comes first. Continuous attacks on our tourists, including recent, are shameful.
Dubey further mentioned that letters are being sent to all associations associated with FWIC. He said that he has also written to the information and broadcasting (I&B) Minister to issue a notification, stating that if an Indian member works with Pakistani artists, a case of treason should be registered against him.

“We are writing letters to all associations affiliated with us. If someone is found to be engaged in such activities again, they will not be allowed to work in the industry,” Dubey said.

“In the letter to the minister, we also said that a notification should be issued. Earlier on Thursday, sources in the Indian Information and Broadcasting Ministry indicated that Pakistani actor Fawad Khan starrer ‘Abir Gulal’ film ‘Abir Gulal’ would not be allowed for screening in India.

Dubey told Annie that he had already written a letter to producer Vivek Aggarwal, in which he was asked not to release the film, warning that FWIC “would stop collaborating with every unit member” if he joined with it if he moves forward.

“The film Abir Gulal was designed for release on the 9th. The producer, the producer, sent a letter to us. We also wrote to the Minister of Information and Broadcasting. We wrote a letter to meet in this way that you cannot work with Pakistani artists in this way. The film,” said Dubey.

Pakistani citizen Fawad Khan was banned from working in India after the first 2016 URI attack. His last Bollywood appearance was in ‘Ae Dil Hai Mukkil’ (2016). On May 9, 2025, Slated Abir Gulal, Slated for release, was considered Fawad Khan’s return project after a gap of nearly nine years.
