New Delhi: Boxer Mary Kom was seen angry with the repeated jokes about angry boxers on The Great Indian Kapil Show. Boxing champion Mary Kom appeared with Sania Mirza and Saina Nehwal in the latest episode. During the show, comedian Kapil Sharma also made jokes about Sania Nehwal’s badminton, Sania Mirza’s gold medal and repeatedly mentioned the boxers getting angry. She also accused the comedians of provoking her on the show. She also admitted that she is getting angry because of the repeated jokes.

The incident happened when Kapil Sharma asked Mary Kom about the mouthguards worn by boxers. He said, ‘Mary, when I used to watch boxing in movies, I always used to wonder why the coach puts something in the boxer’s mouth before the match, like a denture guard… I used to think, ‘Why does every boxer chew paan before boxing?’ I came to know about this much later.’
Mary’s expressions changed and Kapil immediately realised that she was getting angry. He also told Mary, ‘Don’t get angry’. To this, Mary said, ‘No, I am not angry, I have never been angry but now, you are making me angry. You are pulling my leg,’ she said.
Kapil Sharma tried to calm her down, following which Archana teased him saying, ‘Show him how angry you can be, Mary.’
Mary later responded, “We wear guards to protect our teeth. Not only in boxing but also for ice hockey. But you just pointed to boxing.”
Kapil then said, “Excuse me,” which made everyone laugh. “While talking, she grinds her teeth when she looks at me. I wonder if she is angry at me,” he said when Mary asked, “Why like that…”
However, Kapil immediately interrupted and clarified, “No, I was just joking.” Mary calmed down a bit and said, “Just joking? So it’s okay.” Kapil admitted, “This is my livelihood. Please don’t get offended.”
Aside from this moment, Mary had a lot of fun during the episode. She cracked several jokes and shared stories about her travels.
During the episode, Mary Kom revealed that she has brought a family member and a friend as guests on the show. Introducing them to Kapil Sharma, she politely asked if they could take a picture together. Without any hesitation, the comedian graciously agreed and promised to capture the moment on camera after the episode ends.
