The Return of Sauron
In the second season of The Rings of Power, Sauron is back. Driven out by Galadriel without an army or allies, the emerging Dark Lord must now rely on his cunning to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power, which will allow him to bind all the peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will.
Building on the epic scope and ambition of season one, the new season immerses even its most beloved and vulnerable characters in a growing wave of darkness, and challenges each to find their place in a world that is rapidly on the brink of disaster.
As friendships are tested and kingdoms shattered, Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Humans, Wizards, and Harfoots will fight valiantly to protect what matters most to each other.
The second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is produced by showrunners and executive producers JD Penn and Patrick McKay. They are joined by executive producers Lindsay Weber, Callum Greene, Justin Doble, Jason Cahill and Jennifer Hutchison, co-executive producer and director Charlotte Brandstrom, producers Kate Hazell and Helen Shang, and co-producers Claire Buxton, Andrew Lee, Glenys Mullins and Matthew Penry-Davey. Additional directors for season two include Sanaa Hamri and Louise Hooper.
