Chisel’s cool attack and rhythmic scrapping of marble polisters filled the air in the form of artists, collectors and guests, and the guests moved through the exhibition location, in a marble refinery day.
From 6 to 9 March, at the Stonx Refinery in Kishangarh, Rajasthan, a city of marble, Stonx Art Sori brought 10 artists from different areas of life together, each introduced a unique perspective to work with stone. The sculptures were placed within a cycle of citrus raw marble blocks from all over the world – Italian Carrara, Turkish Cappidosian stone, Macedonian marble and more – creating a striking contrast between untouched materials and art.
“We started with sculptures depicting botanical motifs, then moved to the depiction of objects, and finally closed with sculptures inspired by architectural effects. Flow worked well, and I am happy to see how various artists treated the material, ”said the art critic and curator Girish Sahne.

The first sculpture sculpture on the performance was the bloom of Shanthani Mudaiya, the first sculpture on entering the labyrinth. Turn in the shape of a small bush or mixed with a fabric blooming in a flower -a sculpture. Inspired by the silk-weaving traditions of its home state of Karnataka, combined with the effects of the city of Bangalore, the sculpture, complicated, mimicked the tenderness of the fabric despite the macedonian marble carvings in the Pantian Pink. “For me, the work going to public places should develop and relevant to the people and communities around you. It is important to find out how the community is related to your art because no art is different. To complete the artistic journey, a number of audience is required, ”Shanthani said.
Some sculptures emerged originally from their surroundings, such as very marble, which was implicated, while others used to shape – polish, chisel, and shapes in the forms that defined the natural rigidity of the stone.
Other artists of the showcase included Chandrashekhar Koteshwar, Gigi Scaria, Harsh Durugadda, Haratte Ratan, Magesh R, Sheikh Azgarli, Sudarshan Shetty, Teja Gavankar and Yogesh Ramakrishna.

Working with stone is naturally spoken to the idea of durability. Unlike other art mediums, which may be faded, can erase, or decay, stone can end. “When you make a sculpture in the stone, it acquires an aura of durability, as contrary to the mode of the text, which is fleeting,” said the artist Sudarshan Shetty, which is sculpted by sculpture, Turkish marble, portrays a umbrella lying in a puddle of water, has been identified with a nutritional place. “He walks in the rain on the pretext of a lost umbrella that he once borrowed from his mother …” it goes away.
Another notable sculpture is from Gigi Scaria, which depicts a series of disconnected stairs, which is not carried anywhere, exiting the marble from Cappadosia. The sculpture was inspired by the rock-cut housing of the region, and is criticized by the impulse of humanity to dominate and revive the non-equality of construction according to Gigi. He said, “Perhaps 200 or 300 years ago, conquering a forest and making it liveable can be an achievement for humans, but now, it is ruining the residence of wildlife,” he said.

This commitment for longevity and artistic expression was in the heart of Stonx Art Sori. Beyond showing technical mastery, the purpose of this incident was to highlight how Stone inspires contemporary creativity, respecting its rich heritage. “This is a commercial setting, but we still find something artistic here, because we want to surprise people. You can only see it as a marble gallery and refinery, but then your perspective changes, and that is what we want to do – change the perspective of people about the stone ability, ”Sushant Pathak, Group CMO Stonex India said.
