The name ‘Delhi Files’ is changed to ‘The Bengal Files: Right to Life’

New Delhi: Director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has officially changed the name of his much awaited film from ‘The Bengal Files: Right to Life’ from ‘The Bengal Files: The Bengal Chapter’. The film marks the third installment of Agnihotri’s politically charge “File” trilogy and is now scheduled for dramatic release on 5 September 2025.

Self -built by Abhishek Aggarwal, Pallavi Joshi, and Agnihotri, ‘The Bengal files’ delays rigorous communal violence affecting undivided Bengal in the 1940s, especially focus on direct action day and Nokhali riots. The filmmaker portrays the events shown in the film as “Hindu massacres”, which aims to throw light on long -neglected historical episodes.

The film stars Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher and Pallavi Joshi’s notable performances in the film. Due to security concerns, most of the filming has been transferred from Kolkata to Mumbai. Despite these challenges, production is complete.

A teaser released earlier showed a ghost depiction of Mithun Chakraborty’s character – a bearded person who was fully running through a corridor reciting the preamble of the Constitution, with a blind burnt tongue, symbolized deep trauma and flexibility. The teaser has already seen more than 10 million times on YouTube, which reflects the excitement around the film’s release.

Earlier, Agnihotri reached the nation through a social media video, inviting citizens to contribute to his research and provided insight into the film base. He captioned the post, “Meditation: We are doing crowdsourcing research on Bengal for our upcoming film. If you want to contribute to making history, this is your opportunity., I have finally asked an important question, see a important question, look at the end and please answer and share it.”

In the video, Agnihotri raised a provocative question: “Is Bengal going to be another Kashmir?”-Suggesting that the film will serve as a warning and a wake-up call.

‘The Bengal Files: Right to Life’ Agnihotri follows the pre -discussed films, ‘The Teashant Files’ (2019) and ‘The Kashmir Files’ (2022). Presented by Tej Narayan Aggarwal and IM Buddha Productions, it continues to mission of Agnihotri to highlight the low-term chapters of Indian history through the latest film cinema.
