One word, “she”, has sparked a multi-crore family feud that sounds straight out of a Bollywood script. Karisma Kapoor’s children Samaira and Kiaan are contesting their late father Sanjay Kapoor’s will, alleging that it was designed to benefit his third wife Priya Sachdev Kapoor. Dramatic claims, family tensions and hidden secrets take center stage as the Delhi High Court hearings unfold.

However, Sanjay’s children from his marriage with actor Karisma Kapoor, Samaira and Kiaan, have stepped forward to challenge the document, calling it a “forgery” that unfairly disinherits them.
‘He’ or ‘She’? Pronoun controversy that gave rise to doubt
During the latest hearing, senior lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani, representing Karisma’s children, pointed out a strange discrepancy in the will, in which there was repeated use of feminine pronouns while referring to Sanjay Kapoor himself.
Jethmalani argued before the court, “When you find ‘he’ and ‘his’ in four places, it is unbelievable that Sanjay Kapoor, a person of his stature and awareness, would have drafted it.”
This linguistic discrepancy is one of several red flags that suggest the will may have been tampered with or completely fabricated, he said.
Family neglected, mother sidelined
Jethmalani further claimed that even Sanjay’s mother Rani Kapoor was sidelined in the will, a move he described as highly suspicious. Highlighting the imbalance in distribution of assets, he told the court, “Only Priya Kapoor benefits from this forged will.”
Case of misspelled name and wrong address
In the previous hearing, the lawyer had also pointed out several factual errors, including misspelling of a son’s name and wrong address for Sanjay’s daughter.
“These mistakes are very unusual for Sanjay Kapoor,” Jethmalani said, questioning how such fundamental mistakes could be made in a supposedly official legal document.
“Why didn’t it register?” burning question
Adding to the list of discrepancies, Jethmalani questioned why Sanjay’s will was never formally registered. “If he really intended to hand over everything to his wife, why not make it official? Why leave room for dispute?” He argued by suggesting secrecy and deliberate concealment behind unregistered wills.
Cinderella’s stepmother’s moment in court
In the last hearing, tension in the court reached new heights when Priya Sachdev Kapoor was compared to Cinderella’s stepmother. In a no-holds-barred attack, Jethmalani accused them of being “greedy”, noting that they had already received the bulk of the assets.
He declared, “He got 60% of the property and allotted only 12% to his son. He is also getting 75% of the trust, yet his concern seems to be only for personal gain.”
a drama that’s not over yet
The case, now spread across multiple hearings, has shocking details emerging with each session. What started as a family inheritance dispute has turned into a high-profile courtroom saga blending money, inheritance and betrayal, a real-life Bollywood thriller with no clear end in sight yet. As allegations of fraud, greed and rigging swirl in the courtroom, all eyes are now on the next hearing to see whether justice or power will ultimately prevail.
