The release date of Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’ changed

Upcoming historical political drama emergencyThe release date of the film ‘Punjab Ki Rani’ starring actress-MP Kangana Ranaut has been changed. Earlier the film was scheduled to release on June 14, but on Tuesday the makers announced that it will now release on September 6.

The announcement comes a day after Ranaut took oath as a BJP MP from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh on the first day of the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha.

In an ex-post, Ranaut said that she is announcing the release of her film emergency To commemorate “the beginning of the 50th year of the darkest chapter of independent India”.

The actress plays former prime minister Indira Gandhi in the film, written and directed by Ranaut. Ranaut said she took inspiration from William Shakespeare’s play ‘The Tragedy of Macbeth’ to make her upcoming film.

The actor said in a statement, “I am deeply inspired by William Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’, the essence of Emergency is the destruction that occurs when ambition goes unchecked by moral constraints, it is undoubtedly the most sensational chapter of Indian democracy and I am eagerly waiting for its release worldwide on 6th September 2024.”
