Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer Running manStephen King’s 1982 novel a new film adaptation. Directed by Edgar Wright and starring Glenn Powell, the film is going to be in theaters on 7 November.
Set in a near future society, Running man A state -run game show follows the contestants, who should survive for 30 days when hunted by professional killers. Their efforts are widely aired to the public as part of the entertainment spectacle. Powell plays the role of a father who enters the competition in the hope of achieving a better future for his daughter.
The script of the film was written by Wright and Michael Baikal. Unlike the 1987 adaptation starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, the version of the Wright is expected to follow the original story of King more closely, focus on the darker tone of the novel and comment on media and violence.
Speaking at the cinema earlier this year, Powell said, “I have never worked hard on a film in my life,” referring to the physical demands of the role. Powell also said that Schwarzenegger gave new adaptation his “full blessings”.
