Dune: Prophecy is set 10,000 years before the events of the recent films and is based on the novel Sisterhood of Dune by Brian Herbert (son of Dune author Frank Herbert) and Kevin J. Anderson. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it follows two Harkonnen sisters who fight forces that threaten the future of mankind and found a legendary sect that would become known as the Bene Gesserit.
The series was originally developed for HBO’s sibling streamer Max, but will now premiere under HBO — meaning it will air on the cable network and stream on Max — as part of parent company Warner Bros. Discovery’s rebranding strategy.
In this project, Tabu will share screen space with famous actors like Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Johdhi May, Travis Fimmel, Sarah-Sophie Bosnina, Mark Strong, Chloe Lee, Josh Heston and Jade Anoka. The series is produced by Max and Legendary Television, with Legendary also producing the film franchise. The release date of the show has been kept under wraps.
Tabu made her Western cinema debut in 2006 with ‘The Namesake’.
Directed by Mira Nair, the film also featured Irrfan Khan in the lead role. The film received positive reviews and was praised by almost every critic around the world. His second film ‘Life of Pi’ (2012) went a step further and won four Oscars, including the Best Director award for Ang Lee.
Meanwhile, in Bollywood, Tabu will be seen again with Ajay Devgn in the film ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum’. Directed by Neeraj Pandey, the film is an epic musical romantic drama set in a period of 23 years, set between 2000 and 2023. Ajay and Tabu have shared screen space in films like ‘Vijaypath’, ‘Haqiqat’, ‘Thakshak’, ‘Fitoor’, ‘Drishyam’, ‘Golmaal Again’, ‘De De Pyar De’, ‘Drishyam 2’ and ‘Bhola’.
Their upcoming collaboration is expected to be revealed in July this year.
