It is difficult to do a drama based on real events. There should be complete loyalty towards truth. And yet the play should not be a documentary like a documentary. When the subject you are working is a war, the difficulties become complicated. The theater, therefore, was on a challenging subject in collaboration with the NCC-ruan, when the congregation decided to stage a drama on the 1971 Indo-Pak war. But for his credit, the directors of the play (Raghavendra and Sabariva) handled the subject sensitively.

Drama 1971 War: Oru Vitri Thorkakadikakpattadhu (Concept and cursion and cursion by retired Chief General Indrabalan), staged in Narada Gana Sabha, showed the cruelty provoked by Tikka Khan on East Pakistanis; Chief Minister Indira Gandhi’s head Manikshav’s advice for Army employees’ advice to end the war against Pakistan until the conditions were not more favorable; India’s attack on Pakistan through wind, sea and land; And Pakistan’s surrender to Indian forces.

The actors effectively depicted the scenes of war, sometimes resorted to playing shadow.

The actors depicted the scenes of the war, with the guerrilla warfare and the horrific, sometimes resorting to the shadow against the East Pakistanis. When Pakistan’s Lieutenant General Niazi told Major General JFR Jacob that India is a Hindu country, the latter states that Indian military forces have represented the best melting utensils that India is – Jacob is a Jewish, Idris Hasan Hasan Latif is a Muslim, Mantra Aurra is a Parasi, and the latent General is a Parasi, and the latent General is a Venus. Maybe this kind of exchange between Niazi and Jacob did not actually happen, but hearing this, it is happy to hear that it is being called on the stage.

For example, the loud background music submerged the dialogues, for example, Mujibur Rahman’s enthusiastic address for his people. Scenes where actors distributed important lines, they would be more poignant without any music. Sabariva explained that since many of the younger generations seemed unaware of the 1971 struggle and India’s victory in the war, title Oru Vetri Thorkadikakpattadhu (A victory that has been defeated) was chosen for the play. No Oru Vatri Harakpattadhu (A victory that is forgotten) is more suitable?

Eighty-seven-year-old Major Krishnaswamy (later Colonel), who led his army in the enemy’s field during the war addressed the audience after the game. He said that a few years ago, when he visited the then Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, he asked, “When did you last a visit to Dhaka?” To which he replied, “Last time, I did not go. I entered Dhaka.” He said that another difference was that in 1971, he was holding a gun, but was now holding his wife’s hand. Hasina jokingly said, “What you are doing is more powerful weapon than gun.”
