Natya Vrikshasa is fully prepared to present the 18th edition of its special program, which is held each year to mark World Dance Day. It is imagined and performed by senior Bharatanatyam dancer Geeta Chandran.
“There is a moment to stop and persuade the world dance day what the dance brings in our life, not only technology or tradition, but emotion, truth and change. It is our offering to festival art, and for young dancers who will take it forward,” says Geeta Chandraran.
Classical, contemporary and experimental dance forms are involved in separation to separate this festival. This year’s line-ups include the performance of Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi and Odissi artists.

Each day, the festival opens with a workshop ‘movement and dance aesthetics’, operated by dancer and choreographer, Tanusri Shankar. During two days, an ancient story will have a funny dramatic retailing, which will be given a lecture by Rama Bhardwaj with script and performance -how the dance, while currently lies, opens the portal for imagination, memory and transit. It will also be demonstrated by Madhura Bhrushundi (Bharatanatyam), Dhirendra Tiwari (Kathak), Abhinaya Nagajothi (Kuchipudi) and Shashwati Garai Ghosh (Odissi).

To recognize India’s tireless efforts in preserving and promoting India’s cultural heritage among another major highlight youth, Spike Mac and its founder Kiran Seth have a conference of the sixth Natia Vriksha Lifetime Achievement Award. “This honor is not mine alone – it belongs to every student who has sat in awe in front of an artist, for every volunteer who has given his time to Spike Mac, and to every institution that believes in the power of arts to shape the arts and life,” Kiran Seth said.
The World Dance Day Festival 2025 will be held on 26th and 27 April at India International Center, New Delhi.
