‘This was the main reason that I spoke against Jayalalithaa’: Rajinikanth in RM Veerappan’s documentary

We had earlier told that with a documentary title King manufacturerPolitician and filmmaker RM Veerappan is in production. Produced by Thangraj Veerappan of Satya films, documentary creative head Padam Venu Kumar and his team are made under the supervision of his team.

Rajinikanth says, “RMV sir was one of the very few people such as Balanchender Sir, Cho Ramsamy Sir and Panchu Arunachalam Sir. I miss them all.” Citing an incident during the 100-day festive celebrations Basha (Which was created by RMV), says Rajni, “When he was on stage, I spoke against the then prevailing bomb culture. On my behalf with a minister, I should not have spoken like this, and I did not have clarity then. AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa removed him from her post to not object to the government.”

Sharing how he was distraught after hearing the news, Rajni said, “I could not sleep that night, and I could not reach RMV Sir that night. The next day, when he picked up the call, I apologized for a lot of apology. That step, and he could not react to it after that.

Rajni also shared how he asked RMV if he could go and explain it to the then CM. “When I asked, she said that she would not end her decision, do not spoil her name in the appointed time. Also, I do not have to join back after a word with her. That is why she is a great person and a real kingmaker.”

RMV was also a successful filmmaker, a close aide of leaders of the Dravidian movement. After the MGR exiting DMK, RMV helped Star in setting up AIADMK. During the rule of former Chief Minister MGR and Jayalalithaa, RMV served as a five -time minister from 1977 to 1996.

As a producer, he worked on films with MGR like Devthai, Kavalkaran, Naan Annaital, Rickshaw, And IdhikaniHe also liked many Rajinikanth stars Ranuva Veeran, Mondru Mugam, Basha, Thangamagan, Orkwalan And Panakkaran.
