Thousands of mourning in Guwahati is waiting for the arrival of the mortal remains of the late singer as Assam as Assam as Assam.

Guwahati: The sudden death of singer Zubeen Garg has left in Assam in Assam, gathered a large crowd of fans and wishers to pay their honors outside their residence in Guwahati.


The 51 -year -old singer died in Singapore on Friday, 19 September after suffering from complications during the scuba diving session.


On Saturday, a large number of fans were seen outside Garg’s house as the state was waiting for the arrival of the mortal remains of the singer from Singapore.

Assam Minister, Prasant Fukan, who arrived at Garg’s residence in the morning for power, shared his feelings.


Talking to ANI, he said, “Everyone knows that Zubeen is no longer with us. Later in the evening, arrangements have been made to bring him back here. His death has caused me deep pain because my relationship with him was very personal and very close.”


Earlier in the day, Assam CM Himant Biswa Sarma confirmed that Garg’s post -mortem was completed.


The CM took his X account and wrote, “Update: Our beloved Zubine Garg’s post-mortem has been completed in Singapore. His mortal remains have now been written by the officials by the team-Shri Shaker Jothi Goswami, Mr. Sandipan Goswami, Mr. Sandipan Garg, and Mr. Siddharth Sharma (Manager).


Earlier, CM Sarma along with his wife Riniki Bhuyan Sarma visited the residence of the late singer in Guwahati, to express condolences to the bereaved family. Sharing his feelings, he posted, “Riniki and I visited the residence of my beloved Zubeen in Guwahati, who was to stand in solidarity at this time of grief with his family. Thousands of his fans are waiting to catch a final hepat on the streets. We are in touch to bring him back to Assam soon.”


On Friday, the Northeast India Festival confirmed in its statement that the 51 -year -old artist developed issues of severe breathing during the scuba diving session.


The statement said, “He was immediately given a CPR before going to the General Hospital in Singapore. Despite his efforts to save him, he was declared dead at the ICU around 2:30 pm.”


Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his condolences to the late singer Zubeen Garg. Expressing shock in an X post, PM Modi wrote, “Surprised by the sudden demise of popular singer Zubeen Garg. He will be remembered for his rich contribution to music. He was very popular among people in all areas of his life. Sent to his family and fans. Om Shanti.”

Known for his contribution to the Indian music industry, Zubine Garg gave many memorable songs in Assamese, Hindi and Bengali. One of his most popular release came with Emraan Hashmi and Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Gangster’ song ‘yes Ali’.
