Dia Mirza took a trip down memory lane and treated her fans and followers to old gems. The actress brought out pictures from her archive to mark 25 years of her winning the title of Miss Asia Pacific International (2000), followed by winning Femina Miss India Asia Pacific 2000.
Dia Mirza shared three pictures in her carousel post. The first frame features Sushmita Sen, Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta, Yukta Mookhey, Diana Hayden and Dia herself. This photo is from the grand event of Miss India pageant (January 15, 2000), where beauties from different generations had gathered on the stage.
The next image features Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta and Dia Mirza. Dia can be seen planting a kiss on Lara’s cheeks.
The third one we have our heart set on is the one with Shahrukh Khan. The superstar, who served as judge on the competition along with Juhi Chawla and other special guests, shared a frame with Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta and Dia Mirza backstage.
Dia Mirza shared tales and graphic details of that evening which has gone down in history.
An excerpt from her caption read, “Photoshoot with Shahrukh Khan backstage right after our win. A surprise moment for a completely unfazed Hyderabadi who grew up loving him with all his heart! Cover shot of there is evidence.
“The final question that led to Lara, Priyanka and my victory was “If you were a policeman in the Garden of Eden, who would punish for the first sin. Adam, Eve or the serpent?”
“My answer was unusual, I don’t know how I thought of it with the loud ticking of a one minute timer as we prepared our answers and wrote them down,” Dia wrote in her Instagram post.
“Time flies. Each of us has developed and found our own way of understanding our time on Earth. We have lost some people who were part of this life-changing moment.. but their impact and influence Has definitely shaped our lives.
Dia Mirza concluded, “It’s been 25 years since this paradigm shift. And I’m grateful for that.”
Dia Mirza also congratulated Lara Dutta and Priyanka Chopra and wrote, “I love and admire you both. We created history by winning all 3 international titles that year.”
