Sushmita Sen’s latest Instagram post is a throbac gem that you can’t just remember. Today, on May 21, 31 years, it made history by becoming India’s first Miss Universe in 1994. Naturally, the occasion called for a hearty post-and Sushmita just distributed this much.
To mark the milestone, the actress shared a series of paintings from her Miss Universe trip. Photos include iconic moments – long standing, elegant pose among fellow contestants, and of course, in that unforgettable victorious moment she holds her face in mistrust and happiness.
In her caption, Sushmita Sen wrote, “21 May 1994 #Manila. A historical victory, which introduced an 18yr old Indian girl in the universe !!! Opening the world of possibilities, highlighting the power of hope, power of inclusion, the power of inclusion, generosity of love, to visit the world and to meet people … to define life !!!
Thanking her parents, the actress said, “Thank you God, Maa Shubra and Baba Subir Happy 31st anniversary India’s first win in Miss Universe !!!
The actress also thanked Columbia’s First Runner-up Carolina Gomez, whose hands were up in the festival, the moment Sushmita was crowned Miss Universe. Sushmita wrote, “Happy 31st also to my loved ones in #philippines and you have my beloved Carolina Gomez #thinkingofyoull & #CeLeBraTingyou.”
Star signed with words, “To dream here, I know for impossible type …, the universe conspires in our favor !! I love you guys !!!”
Reacting to the post, Harnaz Kaur Sandhu, who brought Miss Universe Crown home in 2021, commented, “Forever,” with two Red Heart Emojis. Dia Mirza, who won Miss Asia Pacific International in 2000, said, “Never forget what you felt and believe. I love you!”
Sushmita Sen was last seen on the show Tali: Bajungi Nahi, Bajwungi. Biography drama is based on the life of transgender activist Srigori Sawant.
