Mumbai: The last rites of Tisha Kumar, daughter of T-Series co-owner Krishan Kumar, were performed in Mumbai’s Vile Parle area on Monday. Many from the Hindi film industry turned up to pay their last respects to the departed soul.
Actors Riteish Deshmukh, Saiee Manjrekar, Farah Khan, Sajid Khan and the Nadiadwala family were spotted wading through waterlogged streets of Mumbai to reach the crematorium.
Salman Khan’s security chief Shera also paid tribute to him. Javed Jaffrey was also present to offer his condolences.
T-Series had earlier released a statement on the 20-year-old’s demise, saying, “Tisha Kumar, daughter of Krishna Kumar, passed away yesterday after a prolonged illness. This is a difficult time for the family, and we humbly request that the family’s privacy be respected.”
According to media reports, Tisha was suffering from cancer and the family had taken her to Germany for treatment. She passed away on Thursday.
Krishan Kumar, who had an unsuccessful acting career in the 1990s, took over the management of T-Series after the death of Gulshan Kumar in 1997.
Gulshan’s son Bhushan Kumar later took control and is currently the chairman and managing director of T-Series.
