TJ Holmes has condemned the “horrible” jokes and memes about Justin Timberlake that have surfaced following his DWI-related charges. “I know this man’s kids have to see this and endure this,” Holmes said on an episode of her and Amy Robach’s ‘Amy & TJ’ podcast on Wednesday, June 19. “He’s a superstar, but he’s a father.”
Holmes added that Timberlake also “has a nephew … [and] A son.” The SexyBack singer also has sons Silas and Phineas, 9 and 3, with his wife Jessica Biel.
‘There’s always a human side to these stories’
Holmes said, “I’m looking at a human being who is having a human experience and something that’s really, really bad for him.” He added that Timberlake was “taken into custody because of a mistake that he made.” Holmes also stressed that he was “not defending anybody.”
“There is always a human side to these stories. [The social media] “The part sucks. As big as the star is, you know what the day is going to be like,” Holmes said, adding that viewers will “find out” later that there’s more to the story.
Meanwhile, Robach wished “the best” for Timberlake’s family. “If what they’re saying is true, I feel for them, for everyone who is dealing with the consequences of drinking too much. Thank God no one was hurt,” she said.
Timberlake was charged with one count of drunk driving. His lawyer said he was later released from police custody in New York. Police said the singer was “driving his car while intoxicated” in Sag Harbor, New York.
Timberlake allegedly failed to stop his 2025 BMW at a stop sign. Sag Harbor police have said he also failed to stay in his lane of travel. According to CNN, court records claim Timberlake told police he “had a martini and I followed my friends home.”
