Earlier this week, the government hosted a high-level session to attach the international community before the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (Waves) 2025, which is scheduled to take place in Mumbai from May 1-4.

Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, Shri Vaishnav, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L. Murugan was present in the high -level session, as was about 100 ambassadors and high commissioners.

A major attraction of the event was an agreement between the Ministry of I & B to strengthen cooperation in media, entertainment and digital outreach.

“The intersection of creativity, media and technology is changing the world’s media scenario and reaching a new level convergence … We are inviting technology, media and some of the biggest names of entertainment for the waves of 2025 …” Mr. Vaishnav said while addressing the session.

“Waves will serve as an important platform for media and entertainment industry to promote discussion, cooperation and innovation. The incident will unite industry leaders, stakeholders and new -intellectuals to detect opportunities, detect challenges and shape the future of the region, “Mr. Jaishankar said in his address.

He said that economic and political imbalance was moving towards cultural balance. “We are not really global if we are not really local. Waves 2025 captures the spirit of this effort, “he said, urging ambassadors and high commissioners that they urge their governments to introduce the opportunities for global cooperation under the waves 2025.

Mr. Fadnavis said that Mumbai, being the financial and entertainment capital of India, would serve as the perfect background for the waves of 2025, which inserts ancient and modern cultural effects by promoting cooperation and cultural diplomacy in the media and entertainment sector.

In his closing comments, Mr. Murugan said the Waves Summit 2025 opened the door for joint venture, co-production and business expansion, enabling global media companies to join India’s creative sector. He said that the government is creating a favorable environment for this region.
