Tom Cruise’s staggering paycheck for 2024 Olympic motor stunt revealed: ‘We wouldn’t get it anyway…’

Tom Cruise’s spectacular motorbike stunt at the 2024 Paris Olympics closing ceremony shocked everyone – mainly because he earned nothing for it. This was revealed by the president and chairman of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, who discussed Cruise’s involvement in the spectacular closing stunt during a recent panel discussion.

Cruz made a dramatic leap at the Paris Olympics, stunning spectators as he fell 50 metres to the ground at the Stade de France.

How much did Tom Cruise get paid for Olympic stunts?

It’s mission impossible in every sense of the word. Cruz’s jaw-dropping motorcycle stunt at the Paris Olympics cost a pretty penny: zero dollars. During the CNBC x Boardroom: Game Plan panel at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Santa Monica, Casey Wasserman, president and chairman of the 2028 Games in Los Angeles, revealed the details nearly a month after the 62-year-old stunned everyone with his daring stunt.

“He finished shooting Mission: Impossible in London at 6 p.m., caught a plane and landed in L.A. at 4 a.m. to film the scene in which he boards the military plane,” Wasserman revealed, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Although Cruise has not said anything about his pre-recorded stunts for the event, TMZ noted that the action hero was the one who approached the committee and showed interest in the project. Wasserman praised Cruise, saying that “every step of the way, [Cruise] and became more involved and more engaged,” eventually performing pre-recorded stunts for free.

An inside look at Tom Cruise’s Paris Olympics stunt

Cruise filmed a pre-recorded segment in which he rode a bicycle near the Eiffel Tower, boarded a plane and skydived over the Hollywood Hills. Carrying a flag from L.A. Mayor Karen Bass and Olympic gymnast Simone Biles, Cruise rode through Paris and passed several U.S. Olympians. The flag was carried throughout the city and eventually arrived at a beach party where famous L.A. musicians performed. The Magnolia star surprised everyone by completing the Paris Olympics and handing the torch over to L.A., which is hosting next summer’s Games.

“We were like, ‘Well, there’s no way we’re going to get this. We’ll get four hours of filming time. We’ll make it work,'” Wasserman said in his statement to HR, demonstrating his surprise and delight at Cruise’s involvement. “With the Hollywood sign, he’ll hand it over and he’ll be done. Maybe we’ll get other stuff, and the rest will just be a stunt double,” he recalled, “About five minutes into the presentation, [Cruise] He says, ‘I am involved in this. But I will do this only if I get to do everything.’

The Top Gun star, who has been a regular at the Olympics this season and even watched Simone Biles compete, stunned everyone with his performance at the closing ceremony on August 11.
