Sony Pictures has released its final trailer. Venom: The Last DanceTom Hardy will return as Eddie Brock, the human host of the formidable symbiote Venom. This final installment of the Venom trilogy promises an intense conclusion to the saga, featuring a star-studded cast including Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach and Stephen Graham. Fans can catch the film in theaters on October 25.
Previously, Marvel teased Venom and Eddie’s connection to the larger MCU when they were last seen relaxing on a beach, before they were mysteriously pulled into the MCU during a post-credits scene. Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). However, Venom: The Last Dance The story returns to Venom’s own world, and avoids any direct crossovers with Spider-Man.
While many were expecting a face-off between Spider-Man and Knull, the film looks to revolve around Knull’s invasion of Earth, as he sends an army of symbiotes to hunt down Venom and Eddie, while they are also being pursued by a group of scientists. Knull is the creator of all the symbiotes, including Venom, Riot, and Carnage – which brings a whole new level of danger to the story. His character is an ancient being who possesses immense power, making him a formidable adversary within the wider Spider-Man lore. Knull’s ultimate goal is to capture Venom, who has become overtaken by a demon, and rid him of the light and humanity that now reside within him.
Fan reactions were more skeptical than positive. “Hopefully they don’t ruin Knull like they did Carnage,” one said. “Venom trailers never disappoint. The problem is the movie,” another said. “This movie looks so stupid, can’t wait to see it,” another commented. Some fans loved the trailer, but also expressed concerns about the cinematized version of the character. “I had my hopes up for Carnage and was disappointed. They shouldn’t ruin Knull. Awesome. This made me really excited for this movie.”
As the film nears release, fans are brimming with excitement for the epic showdown between Knull and the symbiotes. While Spider-Man’s absence may be unexpected, the focus on Knull’s battle with Venom promises to be an entertaining finale to the trilogy. Are you ready to see it?
