According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tom Holland appeared on the podcast Dish where he revealed that shooting on the film has not started yet.
“To be honest, it hasn’t started shooting. I don’t know anything about it,” Tom said on Tuesday’s episode of the podcast Dish.
He continued to explain how details of the film have been kept under wraps. “I’m very excited. Everything is very, very quiet. I met [Nolan]it was awesome. He very casually explained what it was, and I’m sure when he’s ready, he’ll announce what it is,” he added.
Nolan wrote the screenplay and will direct the film, which will be distributed by Universal Pictures. The studio has set the release date for July 17, 2026. Nolan is producing the film with his wife Emma Thomas under their Syncopy production company.
The film will reunite Nolan with Universal, the studio that distributed his Oscar-winning film Oppenheimer.
Nolan won Best Director and Best Picture for producing the film, which grossed a staggering $976 million worldwide.
Matt Damon will also play a major role in the film.
Although Matt has collaborated with Nolan on Oppenheimer and Interstellar (2014), this will be Tom’s first film with the acclaimed director.
Along with them, actors Anne Hathaway and Zendaya will also join the stellar cast of Nolan’s next film.
Tom and Zendaya have worked together in films like Spider-Man Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home. The two have been dating each other for a long time and confirmed their relationship in 2021.
On working with Zendaya on several films, the Spiderman actor said it was like a saving grace. “It’s just this thing when you’re on set and a director will give you a note that maybe you don’t agree with, or I know she doesn’t particularly like, and it’s just, like, a Familiar glances like each other, can’t wait to talk about this later.” Tom said on the Dish Podcast.
