Travis Kelce’s meeting with Julia Roberts at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour was not exactly pleasant for some Swifties and even some celebrities who attended the concert. The Kansas City Chiefs star was present at Swift’s Dublin, Ireland stop on June 30, along with the American actress and Stevie Nicks. Later, he was spotted talking to Roberts in the VIP tent.
The clip went viral and the internet started talking about it. Some people found it heartwarming, while others did not like the “overly emotional” conversation. Now, the NFL star has finally broken his silence on the conversation and a lip reader has also figured out what Julia Roberts might have actually said.
Travis Kelce gushed about Julia Roberts
Kelce, as usual, joined his brother Jason on the New Heights podcast, where they usually talk a lot about the Cruel Summer singer and her concerts that they attend. He then used the opportunity to share a little something about the Pretty Woman star. “Dude, did you just take a photo with Julia Roberts,” Jason asked in surprise. “Yeah, I met Julia Roberts in Dublin, Ireland,” Kelce said and responded excitedly.
“It was awesome, she was amazing,” he said, referring to the Oscar winner. “She and Stevie Nicks were having some fun there,” Swift’s boyfriend added happily. During the concert, the singer also sang Clara Bow for Nicks and, as always, didn’t fail to pay a special tribute to her boyfriend afterwards.

Teasing Jason and giving him a little FOMO, he added, “You’re probably the only one in the family who hasn’t met her yet.” The NFL star mentioned that his mom met the actress in Florida and gushed about how great it is to be around her. “Some of these people you meet and you’re just like, ‘I don’t know what I’m doing here.’ You’re incredible, your talent is incredible, the way you carry yourself is incredible and I’m just a jamoak supporting her girlfriend, and it’s so much fun,” he added.

Reacting to the viral clip, lip reader Jackie Gonzalez shared her interpretation of what Julia Roberts said to Travis Kelce on Instagram. Gonzalez explained that Roberts said, “I’m so happy for you guys, and I don’t mean to upset you, but it makes me so happy.” Gonzalez is a deaf actor and is best known for her appearance in Netflix’s Squid Game: The Challenge in 2023.

Travis Kelsey and Julia Roberts’ ‘awkward’ conversation
Earlier, a clip from the concert went viral in which some Swifties looked uncomfortable with the way Julia Roberts interacted with Travis Kelce. Roberts was seen touching Kelce’s chest, tickling and rubbing his arm during the conversation, while Kelce responded with laughter and seemed to be trying to back off a bit. The incident received mixed reactions online. Later, Nikki Glaser’s parents made headlines when they shared a video of their reaction to Travis’ interaction with Roberts.
“This is weird, what is this? She’s scratching his chest, why?” said Nikki’s mother Julie. “He’s trying to get away from her,” her father reacted. “She’s trying to French kiss him right now! Just kidding. She will,” Julie playfully took a dig at the American actress.
Both later apologized for their words. He said on Instagram, “I probably should have said something other than the word ‘disgusting.'” However, in a separate slide, he wrote, “Listen, Julia Roberts, she’s a good actress, but she’s a terrible flirt.”
